Staff

Veterinarian

Ilan Waskow, DVM Dr. Waskow was graduated with Honors from Goucher College in Baltimore with degrees in English and Biochemistry in 1991. In 1995 he was awarded his DVM by Oregon State University and began his career practicing on the East coast. After a trip around the world in 1998, Dr. Waskow visited Colorado and fell in love with the front range. He and his wife Meg started Mile High Veterinary Hospital in 2002 and immediately enjoyed a wonderful welcome from the Saddle Rock community. They share their home with their 2 children, Aaron and Emily, and their dog Kaylee, a Shiba Inu mix. Dr. Waskow has a special interest in internal medicine, dentistry, radiology, and client education.

Hospital Adminstrator

Marcie Armstrong, CVT Marcie and Dr. Waskow met when they worked together at a practice in Central Denver. Marcie was an active consultant in the design of the practice, both in philosophy and building layout. She even helped stain the cabinets and put together the kennels! As head technician, Marcie was critical to the smooth running of our fledgling practice. Her favorite parts of the technician job include bandaging, radiology, and labwork. She is also a certified canine massage therapist. Upon her return from maternity leave, Marcie adopted the position of Hospital Administrator, taking away the lion's share of the management trials and triubulations and freeing Dr. Waskow to practice medicine. Marcie and her husband Eric are blessed with a beautiful daughter, Elise, and dote on their golden retriever Logan and 3 cats: Shuna Saussee, Lovecraft, and Zanzibar.

Veterinary Nurses

Christie Winsor, CVT Christie originally hails from Flower Mound, TX and moved to Colorado in August of 2000 to attend the Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology. She joined Mile High Veterinary Hospital in April, 2005 and enjoys the relationships she builds with her patients and their owners. When she is not at the hospital, she is spending time with her two loveable dogs, Ty and Abel, and her unusual cat, Grendel, who thinks of himself as one of the pack! Christie has a special interest in animal behavior and is excited to broaden her knowledge whenever possible.
Rhonda Hansson, CVT Rhonda excelled in several careers before realizing her calling was in veterinary nursing. Although catering, running a flower shop, and landscaping all had their rewards, nothing was as satisfying as helping pets stay healthy. Since her graduation from Bel-Rea in 2006, Rhonda has found her niche in the dental suite and will soon pursue her advanced certification in veterinary dentistry. She and her husband Leif serve their cat Morris and manage to get in as many rounds of golf as Morris's nap times will allow.
Sara Ribbens, CVT Sara moved to CO in 2002 to pursue a teaching job. She changed careers in 2006 and became a certified veterinary technician. Although you'll see Sara throughout the hospital, she has decided to focus on helping pets with training and behavior issues. Sara has had a variety of pets growing up and she and her husband Josh currently have a Toy Poodle named Pooky and a Chihuahua named Roo. When Sara is not taking care of animals at work she enjoys playing with her dogs, reading, and playing soccer.
Stephanie Comstock Stephanie Comstock, CVT  Stephanie is a Colorado native. She acquired her bachelor’s degree in marine biology from the University of West Florida. She returned to Colorado to attend the Bel-Rea institute and was graduated in 2005. She joined our team in 2007 and has taken over our Biggest Loser Program, helping our patients regain their optimal figures. Stephanie and her husband Rick share a house with Rick’s daughter, Amelia and their two dogs- D’hara and Zedd and three cats Harry, Hermione, and Neville.

Veterinary Assistants

Jascha Morton Jascha Morton Jascha joined Mile High Veterinary Hospital last year in order to further explore her interest in pursuing a DVM degree. Jascha may welcome you at the front desk, take care of your pets in the exam room, or call you at home to check up on you following a visit, but you'll always be able to see how much she cares about every one of her patients. Outside of the hospital, Jascha coaches a swim team and is dedicated to animal welfare projects. She has 2 St. Bernards: Brigley and Rubie Mae. Tobie, a Great Pyrenees, and Wilhemina, a Newfoundland, round out her household of giant dogs. She doesn't only excel with big dogs, though. One of our clients recently dubbed Jascha "The Cat Whisperer" for her ability to soothe her anxious feline patients.
Karen Consigny  Karen Consigny Karen joined our staff in 2005 as a PT veterinary assistant, but animal wellness isn't her only health care field. Karen is a firefighter in the Westminster Fire Dept. and recently passed the coveted Engineer exam. You may see Karen on Sundays at the front desk, helping out in the exam room, or performing a myriad of other tasks throughout the hospital. When Karen isn't rescuing people or helping your pets, you can find her doting on her delightful Boxer, Maude, and enjoying a host of outdoor adventures.
